Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

Dunno if I'm that impressed at these wildfires being so close... Nearest one is about 45mins away and we're getting some of the smoke here.

After half a week of flopping back and forth between Windows Safe Mode and a Linux boot CD file scanner, I've finally gotten Windows to boot without an active threat thread. Theoretically, that means I can run executables without them getting immediately infected.

I'm trying to remember why I ever considered fighting viruses and malware fun. To add a bit of insult to injury, I'm getting my take-home final in Network Security tomorrow and have to put a presentation together for Tuesday on "Staying One Step Ahead of the Hackers." Shoot me.

Pewp. I missed the mailman on Thursday so now my netflix stuff isn't coming until Monday. I finished Bones seasons 1-3, now I'm starting on the Dresden Files. :ole

The bones 09 season finale was awful
ROzbeans 16 years ago
You mean S04? Because they're just now shooting S05 and are renewed to S06.

Dresden Files.

I was annoyed when they killed that show. I realize it wasn't as good as the books, but I don't have time for books.

i mean 2009, but yeah, the most recent season.

I'm bouncing between The O.C. (netflix), Stargate Atlantis Season 5 (my own copy), Warehouse 13 (online reruns).

I just started watching Felicity season 1 again, after having watched through season 5 of Buffy, and still have the first season of Dollhouse to re-watch, but since there is a never to be aired episode, I've got something new to watch there.

I did watch several episodes of season 1 Torchwood, and then the last 5 episodes of the series. I do want to also go back and watch the rest of season 1, and 2. I really liked that show.

Burn Notice ended last night, kinda disappointed it was such a short season, but the shows were as good as ever. :)
ROzbeans 16 years ago
It's the 'mid-season' finale, I guess. Will pick back up again in Jan.
Lessa 16 years ago
Thats what I thought, since they were calling it a "summer Finale" but couldnt find anything about continuation of the season on their site
Den 16 years ago
My daughter watches Burn Notice too, and agrees it was the mid season finale...and it is coming back in January.

Woo hoo! My little guy has tried using the potty on his own this week! He tries to force himself to go when he sits on it, but at least he understands it's purpose!

I have to put together a presentation for class tomor... fuck, this afternoon. The document I'm supposed to use is this one: http://www.lulu.com/content/e-book/staying-one-step-ahead-of-the-hackers-computer-security-tips-for-everyday-users/114991

Apparently the author is supposed to be some network security Cisco badass who has lectured across the country for years. So why is he such a moron?
What to do with SPAM once you get it…
At home? Just delete it. At work? Just forward it to the network administrator of your
company.

Holy fuck.

Instant Messengers
I don’t recommend using
Instant Messengers (AOL,
MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, etc)
because most of them are
built on the Internet Explorer
engine, allowing the IM
companies (or hackers) to
have full access to your
computer and its documents.
In their user policy you may
see this line:
“You waive all rights to
privacy…” (enough said)

He also recommends manually scanning every picture you download for viruses. Guess he's never heard of real-time scanning.

Sheesh.

David had his 18 months shots today - two of them. Then I told Catherine that she had to get her first HPV shot along with her 2nd chicken pox. Then chick came at me after checking my shot record and said I needed my chicken pox vaccine shot.

Blech.

So we all got shots today =(
Lessa 16 years ago
do you have to get a chicken pox Vaccine if youve already had chicken pox?
ROzbeans 16 years ago
I've never had it and I really don't know. I would imagine so because she told me I needed it without even asking me if I've had it.
Lillyanna-Windmane 16 years ago
Sorry you all had to get shots!

I still don't understand why there's a vaccine for Chicken pox.
ROzbeans 16 years ago
I'd rather the kids not get chicken pox, considering I've never had them. At 35 it would be extremely painful. =x I haven't known a kid who's gotten it in years though. I remember growing up in the late 70's - everyone got them, but I managed to dodge that bullet somehow. My brother got it at 19 and it hit him super hard. =/
