Say Anything.
'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.
Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort
This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.
So, say anything.
I'm trying to remember why I ever considered fighting viruses and malware fun. To add a bit of insult to injury, I'm getting my take-home final in Network Security tomorrow and have to put a presentation together for Tuesday on "Staying One Step Ahead of the Hackers." Shoot me.
Dresden Files.
I was annoyed when they killed that show. I realize it wasn't as good as the books, but I don't have time for books.
I did watch several episodes of season 1 Torchwood, and then the last 5 episodes of the series. I do want to also go back and watch the rest of season 1, and 2. I really liked that show.
Apparently the author is supposed to be some network security Cisco badass who has lectured across the country for years. So why is he such a moron?
What to do with SPAM once you get it…
At home? Just delete it. At work? Just forward it to the network administrator of your
company.
Holy fuck.
Instant Messengers
I don’t recommend using
Instant Messengers (AOL,
MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, etc)
because most of them are
built on the Internet Explorer
engine, allowing the IM
companies (or hackers) to
have full access to your
computer and its documents.
In their user policy you may
see this line:
“You waive all rights to
privacy…†(enough said)
He also recommends manually scanning every picture you download for viruses. Guess he's never heard of real-time scanning.
Sheesh.
Blech.
So we all got shots today =(
I still don't understand why there's a vaccine for Chicken pox.
