Say Anything.
'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.
Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort
This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.
So, say anything.
I've always heard it's painful as an adult, but I don't know what that means. It was kinda like acne for me when I had it as a kid. Didn't really feel like anything until they were hit or scraped. Do they just feel like open wounds to an adult, or is it a different type of pain, like full body soreness?
My sister had it twice. The first time was really minor; the second time it was so bad she got the sores in her throat and ear canals.
I'd rather my kids actually get it, than get the vaccination.
Wow, in the UK people actually have chicken pox parties if a kid comes down with it, to get the others over and done with it too. The older you get the worse it hits you, so parents rather get it over and done with in primary school. It's very rare to get them a second time, its usually measles if you get it again.
lol that's how my family was. My 2 cousins, my sister and I all had them about a week apart. I think at the time the oldest was maybe 14.
It just seems very strange since I didn't have to have one growing up. My son has his shots but I was like whaaaaa? when they said about chicken pox. hehe
With my daughter I never tried to keep her away from anyone exposed, hoping she would get them over with too. When she was about eight she got a few bumps around her waist, and that was it. Apparently her immunities were very strong.
We were both recently vaccinated with TDP (same as DPT but for some reason they changed the order :P) because whooping cough is making a comeback. No one ever suggested we get vaccinated for chicken pox again though.
you cant be too careful with dog bites, My son was bitten by the neighbor's dog and I treated it at home, but after a few days his arm started to turn red and it was spreading. Dog bites are puncture wounds and you can clean them all you want but they shove their nasty germs down under the tissue and it cant really be cleaned out. We ended up having to take him to the dr for antibiotics which cost us 100 bucks plus the 75 for the visit. :/
Lessa I think your neighbor should pay you back your medical expenses at a minimum.
The ER Dr. told us about how bad dog bites can be but since the bites weren't very deep to just keep an eye on it if it gets red and gave us eye ointment since the bite was so close to Jamie's eyes. What a crappy Saturday.
