Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

I got what I thought was food poisoning...again...on saturday but I think it was the stomach flu since I gave it to David on Monday, Catherine on Tuesday, and Mike today. =/

Good deal Roz! I'm jealous!

Looks like I'm going to be staying up all hours of the night making mini pumpkin cakes and chocolate covered pretzel rods for my daughters student council bake sale thats tomorrow. Procrastinate? Yup! LOL

I would have started on this earlier but all the Walmarts I checked did not have the stupid pan I wanted. I NEEDED (ok just wanted it really really bad lol) this really cook pumpkin pan I saw online... Pumpkin Patch Pan so I could make these awesome little pumpkins. Had to drive over an hour away and finally found one at Michaels Arts & Crafts.. and it was the LAST fricking one! :hooray I even bought neat little boxes to put them in, and little doilies for the bottom of the box and everything! ROFL I told hubby not to let spend too much time in Michaels. HIS fault. ROFL

Catherine's BFF is staying the next three days/nights with us because her parents will be gone during a weekly exercise on base (both are active duty). I'm not TOO worried about it, this little girl is always well behaved. Cat on the other hand will undoubtedly try to test her boundaries with me. O_O

You're a better woman than I LoL I'd be killed both of them by the end of the first day I'm sure!

My Jen has the flu; her doctor doesn't even want her to come in to check whether it's H1N1 or seasonal. Poor thing, she's had the fever, 102.5 last I checked; she's been achy all over, headache, sore throat, diarrhea, and SO weak!

Luckily she's been drinking lots of water; can't seem to get enough even. I'm giving her all she wants, and she's eaten some things too, like noodles, grapes, ice cream...

I just hope that it's out of her system by Friday; there's a Halloween dance then, and of course Saturday's the big Halloween Party at her BF's house. *sigh*

Don't let her go if you think she's contagious. I know it'll suck but that's how its spreading so fast - regular flu or otherwise =/

Hope she feels better ASAP /hug!

Yeah, she still feels like crap; congestion and weakness now. It was funny; early Tuesday morning I went in to check on her and she's half-sitting up in bed looking around like she didn't know where she was. She was absolutely SOAKED with sweat, and had no (or very little) fever. Apparently her fever had broken; I said "how ya doing?" She looked at me and said "I dreamed that I was being made into a sandwich..."

When we stopped laughing, I took her temp and it was 99.7; HELL of a lot better than the 103 I was getting the night before! The doctor said that she most likely hasn't been contagious since Monday AM, when her fever really started spiking up. I have no idea how that stuff works, so I'll go with that, and hope it's true.

The school wants her to be out the whole week; she won't be going to the dance. Her boyfriend is going to come over and watch movies with her Friday night. :D

My doc and others have said that right now over 90% of all flu's are the H1N1, and since treatment is the same the tests aren't worth running (not to mention not entirely accurate).

I've read that you're contagious for like 5ish days after symptoms so that
is rough :( Glad she is feeling better though! Sweet of the boyfriend

Well I don't know what the heck I have. I have no fever (or I don't think I do.. lost my therometer lol), only a slight headache, but omg I can't stop coughing and when I do I feel like Im gonna be sick. Not to mention my throat is sore, but not in the usual spot whenever I get sore throats. This time its lower in the throat.. and there's pressure.. feels like I was being choked.

Whatever the hell this is... it needs to go away!!

Just assume it's the flu - swine or otherwise - and use it as an excuse to take time off of work and play wow! Glad your daughter is feeling better, Darsa. I know it's horrible to have a kiddo sick, especially THAT sick. /hug
Temprah 16 years ago
Nianya I had something like that a few weeks ago. My doc thought it was the flu too since several days into feeling crappy I did get a fever. Your best bet if possible really is to stay in and rest.

I sure hope all this swine flu paranoia helps break the expectations of most employers for you to come in to work sick or not. I always hated that and the way people act when you've been out sick a couple days.

Well it's sort of understandable.

OMG I got the cough too. Spent a few days feeling like shit with achy joints and pukey and now it's just coughing like my head is going to pop off. Like half the people I know have the cough too. Thank God I haven't gotten the baby sick I was so worried about him getting sick. It is such a bitch to try and sleep when you can't stop coughing.

And somehow I got suckered into taking the girls and their friends around for trick or treating. Everyones parents had to work. Erik had to work but hopefully he will be home before the girls go out and can take them around the neighborhood. It's like 20 degrees colder this year than it was last year ugh.

I had a cough this year from mid July to the beginning of October =/ It started with a summer cold but stayed around, and this was for the longest. When I was pregnant with David I had it for 1 1/2 months. Turns out it was some meds they had me on - side effect was a dry cough. Sheesh. Took a month to get it out of my system.

=/

Thats what's going on with me. I cannot stop coughing and so annoying! I drown myself with tylenol nightime (nasty gross flavor - cool burst!).. and luckily I've been able to sleep most of the night.

I was hoping I'd feel better by tonight, but doesn't look like it. Not too upset though.. my mother in law is taking my son to some church events for halloween and my daughter (14yrs old) is at that age where she says she too grown up to do those kinda things so she'll be hanging around the house with mom and dad and our beautiful new dog! :D He's so fricking awesome!

Oh crap..that reminds me.... gotta run to the store and buy toilet paper! Got a house we gotta go TP tonight. :evil
