Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

yeah I know, but I didnt want to make a fight with them, even though they knew their dog was dangerous.. still makes me mad to think about it. They had locked the dog in the back yard but mom left the room and the youngest kid let him in where it immediately ran for Dawson and attacked him. Dawson was only bit once but it was deep, looked like someone had put a hole in his arm with a paper puncher.

youre supposed to report them then I think they get a second chance.. or third, not quite sure how it works.

There are states that are "one bite states" where they do put them down if they bite for any reason. This isn't one of them and we're all really upset and half tempted to go get the dog from the pound. He's not a bad dog he just hated James from the moment we brought James home =\ James looks a ton better today but he'd probably gonna have a black eye or two.

I don't know, we love our dog, but if she bit David I'm not sure we'd have her around to try it again. James is a baby - babies love to play with dogs. Why risk it?

When my sister was two we visited my aunt and uncle, who had a smallish mutt. He was on their porch one morning when my sister stood on the other side of the railing, and stuck her head through to see him better. The dog ran up and bit her face, with his teeth going into that spot between the eye and nose, leaving a wound that took three stitches to close. Before anyone else could react, my uncle got his rifle and put the dog down. It was all very surreal to me, but then I was only ten at the time.

Fortunately my sister only has the tiniest of scars now, more like a pock mark, and escaped worse danger. Up until that time that dog hadn't ever bitten anyone or exhibited any signs of aggression, and this is why I'm always suspect of dogs that by their breed are known for being more aggressive. I just won't take the chance.

I think it's true that dogs aren't mean unless you train them to be. I've always heard that about rottweilers, which are suppose to be amazingly good with children. But then I've heard of dalmatians being the opposite and they're the firetruck dogs, yo!

Our dog is the most docile, sensitive, gentle dog I have ever, ever seen. My MOTHER loves our dog and lets her into HER HOUSE. You guys don't even know, seriously. But if Shadow took a chunk out of either one of our kids, I honestly would not hesitate. I asked Mike and he said, 'Well...I don't know.' I just don't think I'd be as comfortable around her. =/

Yep and no matter how much we love Sammy I can't trust him around James and my kids are more important. I had a rottweiler when the girls were little and never ever in a million years did that dog do anything and she took so much abuse from CeCe. CeCe would climb on the dog, pull on the dogs nipples, and pester the shit out of her and Baby never once batted an eyelash. Sammy loved the girls he just couldn't stand James. It kind of sucks for James because James is not huggy but he loved to hug the dog :( I miss the dog he was nice to have around.

My grandma's dog bit me when I was little - I still have a nice scar just under my eye that people ask about. It was a bit trippy because I fed the dog, and being like 5? I didn't understand why he wouldn't eat it so I went to push the food closer to him, and he thought I was taking he it. He charged me and I ran, but tripped over a root just like in a horror movie and he bit me. They didn't get rid of the dog, but it was tied up so I just didn't go near it again, and it was very old and died shortly after.

I can't really fault the neighbors for the other story if the dog was in its own yard - no offense.

some dogs just arent comfortable around small children. We had a pitbull, Missy, and she was the sweetest, most scardy cat-ish dog Ive ever met, but she did not trust small kids. Think my brother was about 7 or 8 when we got her, and she was a baby, just 5 or 6 weeks, and we didnt train her to be violent, and she wasnt. But she would get aggressive around small kids, especially toddlers.

I bet thats how your dog is Erin, he prolly just isnt used to small kids and doesnt trust him. Its too bad you cant find another family to give him to.

On another note, my uncle had a Chowchow that we were sitting while he was away on vacation and it was mad. It had come from a pet store ( dog farm) and who knows how it had been inbred or what had been bred into it, but my brother went out to feed it one night and it snapped, chased him down and attacked him, he had to play dead to get away from it. He had numerous bite marks and I dont remember how many stitches all over his body, but that dog was put down immediately. Its the reason we wouldnt ever get a dog from a store.

Shadow's from the pound and she was 5 when we got her (she's 10 now). She was the only dog that wasn't barking it's friggin head off when we walked into the kennel. Whoever had her before must have been extremely strict with her. At first she would cringe like we were going to hit her - that totally broke my heart. She does get afraid when you yell at her. She'll do the exact opposite of what you're yelling at her to do, tuck her tail and try to sneak out of the room. So if Mike yells at her, I'll yell at him, and then she'll be like 'run away, run away!' lol.

More people are bitten by smaller dogs (Chihuahua's, Jack Russellls, Pomeranians, etc) than by Rottweilers and other breeds with the ''bad" stereotype. But folks don't report it.

Speaking of dogs... are these not the cutest faces ever? LOL In these pics they were only 2.5wks old. They are now 3.5 wks old. Labrador-Standard Poodle mixes ..or as some call them, Labradoodles.

All I wanted this summer was to grow some effing tomatoes on my back porch in a pot. The plant kept getting attacked by squirrels so I brought it inside. Just when I thought those little rascals were done harrassing my plant I put it back outside and had 5 glorious tomatoes growing (yes I have a black thumb of dewm).....so I look out my window and see a squirrel in my yard and go OH SHIT. Go out and the little fucker had taken 2 of the bigger tomatoes and ate them ON THE BACK PORCH. I need me a little squirrel taser.
