Eep! Good luck!

Glad you have it under control, Roz. I take the Gestational Diabetes test tomorrow. I hope I pass it. It's really the only thing they are worried about due to my huge family history of diabetes.
Eep! Good luck!

I survived. I never want to see or taste or smell fruit punch again for AWHILE. Thankfully it was super cold, which made it a lot easier to drink, and they also let me have some water to drink afterwards to get the taste out of my mouth. I should find out the results next week.
Atleast I had some rather goofy Army guys on their post-deployment medicial visit to entertain me. They had issues trying to figure out the bases system to keep everything in order.

Well...I failed the 1 hour test by 4 points. I have to take the 3 hour one now. I really hope I pass that one because I don't want to have GD. Going to try to watch my carbs before the next test. I'm officially on two week appointments now that I'm third trimester.

Welp, I'm not sure watching what you eat before you drink that goob will help the test, but watching what you eat from now on will definitely help control the size of your wee one. =) Check out the cooking section, there are a lot of diabetic recipes in there. =D

Yeah, I'm just hoping. lol. Atleast with it being only 4 points over, I could still pass the 3 hour. All else, I'm going to start watching my carbs. It'll be tough because I've been craving fruit a LOT lately. I'm really not looking forward to the fasting + 3 hour test + goop. Ugh. Going to feel shitty after that. I have to call the lab in the morning and schedule it.

What helps is not drinking any real coke, cutting back on your breads and upping your protein (veggies, bright colors) to keep you filled. =)

Veggies have been my bane lately. Going to try to up my protein and I'm going to go get some wheat/whole grain bread for when I want a sandwich. Hubby took me out to Red Lobster after my appointment because I was frustrated to the point of tears. Go go hormones. lol

I'm NORMAL! =) YAY! Test results came back just fine from the 3 hour test. A little borderline, but nothing a slightly sugar management can't help. Not to mention I stressed to hell and back about the test.
Baby is a week ahead measurement wise. She kept kicking the doppler. I swear, she has a hatred of those things. Oh, and the midwife said I have tiny ankles. hehe No swelling worries there I guess.

Update on this week....whew...
Monday I tripped and fell. I didn't land on or hit my belly, but I sure as hell skinned the fuck out of my knee. Not to mention making almost every joint in my body HURT. The OB made me go into Labor and Delivery for an NST (Aka...stick the monitors on me for an hour+). Baby was a-okay. She re-affirmed her hatred of all things that monitor her without letting her show off like ultrasounds do. She kicked the monitors, squirmed, and even moved all the way to the other side of my body to keep from being near them.
I had my 32 week appointment today. Baby is apparently head down. We'll see if she stays. I told her she better not get any ideas on funky positions for delivery. I still need to make up my mind/talk with the OB about my back and labor. The more research I'm doing and the worse my back hurts, I'm starting to lean towards a c-section. I'd like to not make my scoliosis any worse than it is. Hell, this week before the fall, my hip kept get sharp pains and seriously feeling like it popped out of place. Scared the shiat out of me.

Wow! Glad to hear you're ok, and everything is going as well as expected. Hope you work out the delivery so you don't suffer needlessly.

I know I'm late chiming in here, but I'm going to anyway. =)
There are a lot of different positions you can be in when giving birth. Most OB/GYN's are willing to use alternative and frankly more natural birthing positions than the standard "it worked in the 70's" laying on your back at a 45 degree angle.
Talk to your OB about squatting, standing, kneeling, and all fours birthing positions as well as a c-section. She may have you consult with a doula, midwife or eastern medicine practitioner. Don't get me wrong, I think a c-section is a great thing and has helped a lot of women, but it's better for you and baby to try vaginal birth if it's feasible.
I'm sorry you're having so much pain. gy I hope you and your doctor find a great solution for you!

Finally somewhere for the baby to sleep! With our current living arrangements, we basically ended up turning our over-sized living room into a living room and small nursery. When we rotate to a new station the baby will have her own room. I'm glad that most of this stuff is done now. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew

36 weeks along...to quote my husband "You are officially in "Doomed to pop at any moment" stage."
Though I really am ready to get this kid out. I think she dropped, which has made me enter an entirely new realm of discomfort and pain.

That's the current debate...
I was born on my due date (My mom's doc being an idiot and breaking her water did help in this...)
Hubby was 8 days late.
Hubby's son was a few days late.
Me, Hubby, and his son were all 8lbs + babies. Who knows what this kid will come out as and when. LOL
