Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

Poor little Butters I went in there after reading up a bit and stuck him right by a nipple and he got hopelessly lost. The little fatties edged him out and sucked for a minute then passed out at the nipple. He crawled back up by Piglets head and she has him tucked under her arm so I can't try to put him by a nipple again til he gets out of mamas arms.

Kittens!! Sooo cute :)

As for colours and health problems, only one I ever knew about was if a cat is pure white with blue eyes, it's likely to be deaf too.

Butters is a perfect name for the scrawny one :D I finished Changes couple days ago btw. Man said he didn't wanna drag a hardcover to work so I said fine, means I can read it first! LoL Now I just need him to be off so he can read it and I can vent about the ending cuz he already knows it had me all ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Turn Coat was good, but damn Changes just let a few cats outta the bag I swear.
Laschae 16 years ago
Yeah Erik finished it yesterday and he kept going OMG OMG as he got closer to the ending lol.

What is this Changes book you speak of? Is it part of a series?
Eve 16 years ago
Changes is the latest is the Harry Dresden files, written by Jim Butcher. Think it's book 10? Somewhere round there already anyway. Oops looked it up, book 12 I guess.

I was a vet tech for a good while and I never heard of anything about tuxedo's being prone to more than any other color of cat. I think that vet was just full of shit. Of course I feel 90% of vets are full of shit considering they think feeding Science Diet is good quality food.

If theres one who can't seem to get much nursing time, separate the kittens from mom a few times a day. Take a few away, let mama kitty feed 2-3 kittens at a time. Of course make sure if you remove any kittens to keep them warm since they are still very tiny and cannot regulate their own body temp yet.

Maybe! He was the only vet in the area for probably 15 years, and all 3 of my tuxedo cats developed the same kidney problems, so maybe it's something unique to this region... maybe something in the water. Or maybe he was full of shit and I was unlucky.

I had another cat develop lymphoma when he was not even 1 year old, and a black labrador with epilepsy who also had at least two strokes. All the rest of my pets died to "natural" causes such as automobiles. So the "unlucky" hypothesis isn't too hard to believe.

You don't think they're too young yet for me to pull a few out. I mean there are two that are getting hugely fat already! I went and checked on them and they are all asleep. It's totally cute!

Hey Nia, we're feeding our 10 year old dog Natural Choice now, the old lady dog formula. Is that brand any good?

So the guy who date raped me in junior high found me on Fb and apologized, and sent me a friend invite.. and now I feel all guilty for telling him I wont accept the fr ( after he gave me his sob story) But Im not going to change my mind. ><

- Our vets always reccomended Iams and Science Diet for pet food because they dont add ash and other fillers to their food, I think, that contribute to kidney infections and UI's.

Fuck that noise. The apology is cool, but the friend request is absurd. I would have a few choice words (well, paragraphs, really) for him.

Most cats are prone to kidney problems. Its more a species thing than a color thing. Senior cats as well as obese cats are even more at risk for problems. I have 2 tuxedo kitties. One is 10 yrs old (adopted him when he was 8wks old from a shelter in San Diego), and he is perfectly healthy. The other one is only 2 yrs old. Healthy too. :)

Lash no they aren't too young to remove from mom for short periods of time. Obviously you don't want to keep them away too long, but it would be ok to take the chubby greedy eaters away for like 10 min at a time just to let the smaller ones have a chance at getting more to eat. You can put a towel in a dryer to make it nice and warm and put it with the kittens to keep them warm while away from mama. Or you can do like I do sometimes.. I put them in my bra between my boobs. LOL Also I would make sure mama kitty is on a good diet - put her on kitten food, not adult cat food.

Roz, Nutro Natural Choice .. is a decent food. The best way to find a good quality food is look at the first 5 ingredients. You dont want to see junk (fillers) like corn, or by-product. I feed my pets Taste of the Wild. Here's the ingredients. You'll notice there are no grains or fillers.

Bison, venison, lamb meal, chicken meal, egg product, sweet potatoes, peas, potatoes, canola oil, roasted bison, roasted venison, natural flavor, tomato pomace, ocean fish meal, salt, choline chloride, dried chicory root, tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries

Here's a site that helps explain how to choose the right food http://www.wikihow.com/Choose-Healthy-Dog-Food and http://www.dogfoodproject.com/

Now there is nothing wrong with brands such as Pedigree, Purina, etc (brands you can buy at grocery stores) because obviously they have to past FDA approval and meet the minimum requirements to be sold for pets... but I like to compare it like fast food. Sure you can eat and survive on McDonalds, but it's not exactly the healthiest diet to eat. ;)

edited to add: Science diet... or as I call it Science Death is blah. LOL Look at the ingredients.
Now the hills science diet prescription diets (like a/d, i/d, etc) aren't the best, but they are good for pets who need a special diet for health reasons.

FYI vets get like a 1 week (if that) course on nutrition.

Well we took the fatties out and held them for about 4 minutes then they both started crying and Piglet got nervous so we put them back. We'll have to give it another try later when James is asleep since there is no way in hell I am letting him near them anytime soon. He's a good boy and all but he's a little brute. As soon as she had them I started her on kitten food I was thinking about moistening it with some water so she would stay hydrated but I don't know that she'd eat it. May get a few cans of tuna and drip the tuna water on the food...

Less, I agree with Pharren --- fuck that. They have this site you can track rapists and pedophiles on (don't remember what it's called) and I looked up the guy that did that to me just to see if he was being watched...sure enough! Doubt I was the first or the last. apologies are all nice and shit but what people like that so ... it just doesn't heal. There's a special place in hell for people like that.
ROzbeans 16 years ago
That is fucking ridiculous. You should write him a long letter about being a fucking monster and then block his ass. Who friends someone you've raped? A fucking deranged psycho, that's who. Jesus. He's just trying to get close to you so he can relive it all over again.

For real.

They still do a lot of schooling on top of practical experience. I think its a little unfair to act like 90% of them are idiots when they have all the experience and training that you do plus years of schooling.

EDIT: Not to say there aren't bad vets out there by any means.
