Say Anything.
'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.
Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort
This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.
So, say anything.
Oh, well ok.
I had a great time hanging with Jello the past couple of days and now we're bonded by the pain sisterhood of tattooing stupid...ness. =D I just really suggest researching your person, looking online and then stopping by the store and checking out their portfolio. Don't just go to the first person you find - Jello and I looked around, went to a couple places, searched online, emailed...really take that shit seriously.
Cool, right?
My mom and sister are both smokers.
They smoke in the house.
They just spent a half hour nailing up old curtains to "close off" the dining room to "prevent smoke from getting in the dining room" so as not to make the dress stink.
I'm adopted. I have to be. "Moron" doesn't cover it.
I have 3 tats right now and want at least two more. The hardest part is putting them where they are hidden from -offical- public view and still tasteful. As much as I love ink I cant pull off the KatVonD look.
Roz is def right about the research though, I walked into one shop and told them I wanted something art nouveau and the guy said he didn't know what that was :o
Soooo that place was out of the picture. I love my artist now! But i want to go to NY Wooster St Social Club and get one done by Megan! (NyInk)
I follow : Tattoo artists, comedians, and people from Days of our Lives which is a soap opera. Its a pretty exciting feed i know.
I want to join the roller derby so I have more reasons to get a surplus of tats
If I can find an incredible artist in CO, I'd entertain adding small butterflies to the flowers.
I don't twitter myself, I have like 2 followers I think lol, but yeah I follow Simon Pegg from Shaun of the Dead, Today show, Al Roker, Alec Baldwin (because his shit is just hilariously inappropriate), NYInk guy - the cute one, the saltwater tattoo guy I forget his name, the ROck, Chuck Norris (no shit), Samuel L Jackson, then a bunch of publishing houses and writers digests.
No one would know you just got your tattoo done and think it was a almost 40 thing! Our skin is the single best way to carry our art around with us forever. My artist who was a artist before she did tattoos books up months ahead. She will be in Colorado in september! http://carylart.com/ She's awesome, Im not in her gallery but she did an amazing cover up of an old junky tattoo of mine with a flower purely done in color with no black out lines. She can shade and blend colors like no other. The only thing is it hurt like a mother after awhile in area that had blended shades of 3 colors. The pain was worth it.
Im totally going to follow alec baldwin if hes funny. I follow loni love and shes hilarious in her tweets. I did follow Lindsay Lohan but shes not as amusing as i thought she be. =(
If I get one it'll be a phoenix on my calf, but I am not a big fan of pain so it'll prolly never happen.
I am always nervous about permanent changes.. it took me 15 years to get up the nerve to color my hair and thats only long term, not rest of your life permanent, and I love it, so maybe the henna idea would be a good one. :)
