Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

I had a good time with Jello, despite the agonizing pain. The tattoo artist was funny and had a thick Russian accent - and coincidentally not ONE tattoo. "They hurt," he said.

Oh, well ok.

I had a great time hanging with Jello the past couple of days and now we're bonded by the pain sisterhood of tattooing stupid...ness. =D I just really suggest researching your person, looking online and then stopping by the store and checking out their portfolio. Don't just go to the first person you find - Jello and I looked around, went to a couple places, searched online, emailed...really take that shit seriously.

My mom's making my sister's wedding dress.

Cool, right?

My mom and sister are both smokers.

They smoke in the house.

They just spent a half hour nailing up old curtains to "close off" the dining room to "prevent smoke from getting in the dining room" so as not to make the dress stink.

I'm adopted. I have to be. "Moron" doesn't cover it.

I <3 tattoos! That one looks great Roz, I love the hints of purple and all the swirls. Im a swirly fan.
I have 3 tats right now and want at least two more. The hardest part is putting them where they are hidden from -offical- public view and still tasteful. As much as I love ink I cant pull off the KatVonD look.

Roz is def right about the research though, I walked into one shop and told them I wanted something art nouveau and the guy said he didn't know what that was :o
Soooo that place was out of the picture. I love my artist now! But i want to go to NY Wooster St Social Club and get one done by Megan! (NyInk)

God, I know right??! My brother lives in WV so NY is like 3ish hours away and I wanted to 1) go to the Today show at 30 Rock, and 2) go to the Wooster Club and get a tatt there, too!

If you follow Megan on Twitter and you tweet her she responds =D Its nerdy that excites me but its totally awesome

Al Roker replied to two of my tweets. I totally lost my shit.

Tats on chicks is fucking hot to me. I love chicks with tats!

ahaha the whole A FAMOUS PERSON ACKNOWLEDGE ME is what makes twitter awesome.
I follow : Tattoo artists, comedians, and people from Days of our Lives which is a soap opera. Its a pretty exciting feed i know.

I want to join the roller derby so I have more reasons to get a surplus of tats

I want another tattoo, but I'm not going to go all crazy and put them in places where I can't hide them. Right now the tatt behind the shoulder feels like a secret just for Mike (I don't wear tank tops) so I'm comfortable with that. However, my sports bra doesn't cover it, so if I take my work out hoodie off, everyone can see it because my tops are racer backs. Not sure how comfortable I am with that, I mean it's not so bad, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to give myself a 'oh she's almost 40, bet she pierced her nipple too' complex. You know, which I have not. O_o

If I can find an incredible artist in CO, I'd entertain adding small butterflies to the flowers.

I don't twitter myself, I have like 2 followers I think lol, but yeah I follow Simon Pegg from Shaun of the Dead, Today show, Al Roker, Alec Baldwin (because his shit is just hilariously inappropriate), NYInk guy - the cute one, the saltwater tattoo guy I forget his name, the ROck, Chuck Norris (no shit), Samuel L Jackson, then a bunch of publishing houses and writers digests.

I want a tree between my shoulder blades...I think :X. The drawback there is that I wouldn't be able to see it for myself so I wonder if I wouldn't enjoy it as much. I thought about something below the belly button but then I'd never be able to show it off! lol.

I almost got Ike instead. I'm kinda glad I didn't put a red crayon on my back. Or Hello Kitty for that matter =x

David has figured out those door knob protector blocking thingies. How do I know this? He let the fedex guy in yesterday while I was in the shower. /sigh

I have one on my chest, my back shoulder and my ankle. The next two go on the other back shoulder (more flowers) and the other ankle/calf ( art nouveau inspired tree). I would love to have one that goes down my whole back but Im too chicken. Mostly they are all plants except I have a kangaroo silhoute with my sons name cuz baby kangaroos are called joeys.

No one would know you just got your tattoo done and think it was a almost 40 thing! Our skin is the single best way to carry our art around with us forever. My artist who was a artist before she did tattoos books up months ahead. She will be in Colorado in september! http://carylart.com/ She's awesome, Im not in her gallery but she did an amazing cover up of an old junky tattoo of mine with a flower purely done in color with no black out lines. She can shade and blend colors like no other. The only thing is it hurt like a mother after awhile in area that had blended shades of 3 colors. The pain was worth it.

Im totally going to follow alec baldwin if hes funny. I follow loni love and shes hilarious in her tweets. I did follow Lindsay Lohan but shes not as amusing as i thought she be. =(

Keystone CO is like 2 1/2 hours away from Colorado Springs. Hmm, her stuff is beautiful though. I think the most I'd want to get done would be a yellow butterfly for my mother I think - not sure I'd hoof it for that =/ So lazy. Plus I told Jello I'd wait for her to come visit us in 2013 before I get another one.

My hubby says I should get a tattoo of a zipper where my scar is.. which means it would go from my waist up to my sternum in the middle of my tummy.. Mom agrees, but says I should do a vine.. equally horrible. lol

If I get one it'll be a phoenix on my calf, but I am not a big fan of pain so it'll prolly never happen.

Maybe your could consider a mehndi-type design. Actually, it may be a good idea to do a mehndi design first the traditional way with henna. If you dig it, you can always choose to tattoo a permanent version. I think mehndi is beautiful!
Dia 14 years ago
zipper is sweet! Maybe it wouldnt hurt as much because of the scar tissue. That could be a added bonus. Pretty sure the pain in comparisson to what you have already experience will be a cake walk!
Lessa 14 years ago
lol at least it wouldn't take months to recover, right? Still not so sure about something else in the middle of my tummy, just want the thing to fade so its less noticible, hubby wants me in a bikini this summer ><

I am always nervous about permanent changes.. it took me 15 years to get up the nerve to color my hair and thats only long term, not rest of your life permanent, and I love it, so maybe the henna idea would be a good one. :)
