Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

Ooh, I hate UPS. They pulled that "damaged in transit - merchandise discarded" crap with a box of Bawls I ordered from ThinkGeek a few years back. They NEVER notified ThinkGeek, so I e-mailed ThinkGeek to ask about it. Luckily, ThinkGeek employees have always been fucking awesome to me, and they sent me an immediate replacement with no hassle (which is how it should be, since UPS should eat the cost).

Just curious. Did you actually tell the UPS guy that your missing package had a game console in it before it got "damaged?" My missing case of Bawls was pretty recognizeable in a heavy box from ThinkGeek. I've known guys who used to work at UPS who said that they opened packages all the time if they suspected the contents were something they wanted. Then they just wrote off the contents as damaged goods since they personally weren't responsible for a certain amount of damages.

Ugh Roz that SUCKS! I'm sure they are not going to want to hear from you in 3-5 days or they're going to be chewed a brand new one, maybe even several! lol

I really hope you get it at the very least replaced or hell even a straight answer.

Well the next time I call I'm asking for a supervisor. I figure I'll wait until about Wednesday.

I got used to not burning easily because I'm naturally tan. Sunblock? Pfft, forget that. Then I went overseas and spent some time in the water and in the sun, much closer to the equator. My cousin's kids had a lot of fun jumping on my burned back for a couple of weeks. Ow.

I remember when I used to tan, now I just get all blotchy =(

Yeah, my darling collegues are finding it amusing to slap me. Most of them are Native American so they don't burn either. Cory thinks its hilarious, he's never seen anyone go so red.

oh boy...sunburn is no fun. I hope it fades fast for you!. I don't really burn much myself. My skin is on the pale side, so I generally take precautions, such as always wearing sunscreen. Seriously, I wear moisturizer with sunscreen even in the dead of winter. This is me by the pool in Cancun. Notice the shorts and long sleeve coverup LOL. I took my hat off for the picture.

So I called Microsoft today and spoke to a supervisor. Basically UPS fucking stole it. I know they did. They never notified Microsoft that it was damaged, they just noted it in the tracking and THAT'S IT. God those fuckers. Damaged my ass. They 'discarded it' before even sending it to MS to see if it could get fixed. Damaged...LIARS!

I should hear back in 2 days on what the situation is, but we will be getting an xbox back. Mike's only concern now is whether or not we'll ever SEE the replacement because of UPS.

Jeez...what a nightmare. I have never had a problem with a shipper (UPS, Fed Ex etc) stealing an item I have shipped. But my brother in law had issues. He owns and operates a coin dealership. He found that if he had his company name on the return label, items would go missing.

He changed his primary shipper to the United States Post Office (he never lost a shipment when it was sent USPS) and he changed his return address to simply list the initials of the business.

I hope you get a replacement XBox!

That's what we're thinking - maybe the box said it was from microsoft and snagged it. =/
Vishanti 17 years ago
That's exactly why I don't use UPS anymore if I can help it at all. After the stories I heard from former workers and my own "damaged/discarded" experience, I'm convinced that they steal things once they know what's inside.

...and to think I used to associate UPS with "getting a new toy" since the first time I ever heard of them was when I was 4 or 5 and my mom told me a present was arriving in a big brown truck.

Erik used to work for UPS and he said they were none too gentle with the fragile items. I remember him telling me guys would intentionally be rough with fragile packages....so USPS it is for me :D

MS called and let us know that they will be sending us a replacement for our 'lost, no wait it was damaged' xbox 360. I asked the guy if this sort of thing happened frequently and he admitted that it did. So I requested that they send it via 'someone else who fucking won't steal it, although I know that's asking a lot of a shipping carrier' and they said they'd request that it be sent via FedEx.

So I should have a tracking # by this weekend and our replacement here...some day.

Fucking UPS - fucking carriers. Thieving sacks of shit.

at least MS was cooperative, good luck Roz!
