Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

heh. it's not so bad, actually. i removed the ring seal on the cap because those sometimes make me spill a bit when i drink. unfortunately, that also means the serrated edge of the cap is exposed. when i went to unscrew the cap for a sip, it slashed right through my finger. apparently it almost completely missed the capillaries, but it looked like a deep paper cut when i spread it open. there was a line of blood visible under the skin, but not intersecting with the actual opening. no seepage, so i had my partner keep an eye on my finger in case the increased blood flow caused it to spring a leak.

more worrisome is that i may have torn my favorite workout pants while dismounting during an awkward exercise ball movement my friend had us doing. i'm gonna check that later, but right now i have to do my taxes.

Wow, I am so bored at work.

This is a conversation I had with my husband via text a minute ago:

Me: Should I get a sound card today? Anything in particular I should be looking for?

Him: It has to be a regular pci card and not a pci-express

Me: Riiiight... And they have 'em at Best Buy?

Him: It has to be green with black and red stripes. It must be exactly 8.236 inches long and 2.962 inches thick. It has to have a butt-shaped tattoo of a butt on the upper-left corner. It must smell like moldy cabbage and it has to taste like guacamole.

I'm thinking he has too much free time...

I blame the conversation I'm having with a girl who's bored at work for making me have to read that twice.

*SCREAMS* My sister took my 10 year old niece to the doctor monday because she was complaining of some odd lumps under her arm. Her doctor kind of made light of it and said its probably just fatty deposits (and reassured her that no she was NOT fat, and she isn't at 4'11 and 99lbs) and the doctor said but we are going to send you for an ultrasound just to make sure. She gave my sis that look that says more and stopped her at the door to whisper something like don;t worry I will take good care of her. My sister was of course worried but tried to shake it off. They go this morning and the technician was very nice, laughing and putting them at ease and even told Sonya (my sis) that she would go ahead and tell them the results since she was quite sure it was nothing. During the exam her demeanor changed and she said that they would have to wait to get their results from the referring doctor in a day or two. My sister who is my no means medically trained even says that something looked very off to her when looking at it. And when my sis asked to just take the pictures to her doctor and they said no, hospital policy is we have to make sure they only go to the referring doctor.

WHAT THE FUCK? They expect her to wait DAYS for these results??????? She can barely keep from being hysterical and sobbing right now and I am pretty close to that myself. Why the fuck can't they just send the results NOW? It's literally a few doors down the street. I mean come the fuck on.

=/ Good luck to your sister. I'm sure whatever it is, she's in good hands. =)

Thanks Roz. I'm going over there for a visit this morning. My sister hasn't kept any food down in a couple days so I have to go play big-sister and bully her into eating so SHE doesn't get sick again. I can't stop nibbling when I'm stressed and she can't keep anything down... go-go polar opposites =x

It's hard enough to deal with that sis just got a second opinion last week confirming she has Usher's syndrome, as well as cataracts, and that her night vision is gone already. A prognosis of maybe 10 years before she's legally blind isn't easy for someone who's only 32. But I don't think she's even thinking about that right now (and we really need to be planning for it...) but everyone is too worried about the kid (myself included) atm.

Our second car's transmission died, well at least it's not shifting into 4th or 5th gear, so the dealership said 'Hi, 3k please.' We said, 'uh, no.' We're hoping the amco transmission place can fix it instead of dropping a brand new transmission into a 14 year old car =x
Den 17 years ago
Ugh - I've only had one transmission go out on me, and that was my brand new Saturn, back in 1994...lucky for me it was under warranty. My Rav is now 10 years old, but a Toyota, so I'm hoping I have another 5 years on it.

The weather has been AWESOME so I've been outside more than in. Rained yesterday and this morning, but Friday Saturday and Sunday are all supposed to be in the upper 70's which is INCREDIBLE for Maine this time of year! I can't wait :D

Oh, and Jen's boyfriend (yep, they're still together, ugh) has discovered that we have a 4-wheeler; we let him try it out around the lawn as long as Jen was with him (I knew he wouldn't go crazy with her on board).

Wrecking the Lawn

So yeah, he spent a few minutes afterwards filling in the divots he created LOL
