Combined Threads - Formerly Officially A BOY!! + Water Broke!
I'm sure Mike's going to realllly appreciate this. So he and I are officially trying for our kiddo #2. We had unprotected sex last night, which marks the only other time we've EVER had unprotected sex. We grew up freaking out about unplanned pregnancies so we feel good about being able to plan our two. Don't get me wrong, surprises are good too - but I kinda don't like being surprised hehe. Especially since I'm diabetic so I have to come off a lot of medication. So I'm checking my blood pressure everyday and sugar. Anyway - if it's anything like Catherine, I'll be pregnant by next week O_o
Cross your fingers!

Roz just called and she sends her hellos to everyone.
She estimates Tuesday she'll be home, and hopefully tomorrow we will get more pics if they have wireless internet in the hospital

Everything went relatively well.
Saturday morning the water broke, she woke me up and told it broke and being in the (just realized) deep sleep that I was, I was mightly confused for a minute. Of course we hadn't packed a bag (but what do you really need to take these days when you have to strip for everything) and spent a few minutes tossing a few things in it, then waking up Catherine and her friend (she had a friend spending the night) before we could take off to the hospital.
We got there about 1 in the morning, wee for running red lights, and almost immediately started with contractions. Moved into the birthing room and she had to wait until about 3:30 am to get her epidural and got to experience some good contraction pain, but at least to the epidural she got some good sleep for the night. (So did I, I slept until about 10 am).
She started really pushing about noon and did that a good three hours and David didn't drop into the birthing canal at all, so off to the C-section. It was relatively quick and all, upsetting to Roz and upsetting me that it upset Roz, but it was worth it when we heard our son's first cries. He was a real trooper through the shots and the prick on his heel to test his blood sugar, but he let it known that he didn't like having his feet stretched out to measure his length.
Roz had a good hour and half time in the recovery room before she got moved into the room she is in now. The rest of the first day and night she was pretty loopy from the sedative for the C-section and he spent from midnight to about 6 am in the nursery (mostly because Roz couldn't stay awake and I needed sleep and I knew that if he stayed in the room I would stay awake as long as I could) but it was a good thing since he was having blood sugar issues and over the night he had his three successful over 42 blood sugar readings. Hooray.
Today Roz got off the IV and the drip sedatives and moved to some orals for the rest of the day. He has pooped a good number of times and I've already been an ancillary victim of the fire hose, so everything is good in that department. He is taking slow to the nursing, and almost narcoleptic in his sleeping patterns (I guess Mom pushing all that time wiped him out as well).
So, yes, Roz is resting well. David is resting relentlessly, Catherine is taking most of it in stride and I'm just happy to have another healthy child to play with. There will be more pictures come Wed/Thur/Fri when Roz has the time to do it.
And yes I will be home the next three weeks to help her, and coming the third week my mom will come up and be here for two weeks.
I just can't wait to have all of my family under one roof, at this point it still isn't 100% real to me.
