Rikr's baby adventure!

Congrats. Great day top be born (being it's my b-day also) Hope your daughter has a fast recovery and that all of you are doing well. Will keep all of you in my prayers.

Yes, November 9 is the bestest day; not only is it SnowDragon's birthday, it's also my little girl's My Jennifer was born 12 years and 56 minutes before your Alexis

Thank you all. God has been very good to us, and I pray for continued blessings. She was put on the vent. Sunday morning and was taken off of it today. She is still having some issues with not taking in enough oxygen at times. They said she was hardly using the vent at all. They don't want to keep her on it, if they don't HAVE to. They said it could damage her lungs. They started her eating at 2ml of formula/mom's milk, and she is up to, I believe 9ml already.

The hospital is very pleased with her so far, in that she doesn't need any antibiotics yet, and she's eating very well, going to the bathroom, and breathing, for the most part, on her own, and at 27 weeks. Her scan for brain bleeding was negative today. Normal brain, no bleeding. I try to hold on to that as much as I can without thinking about the other. It's hard too though.

It's tough to go into the NICU and look at my daughter in her heated enclosed home. I cannot wait to bring her home. Every time I step foot in NICU I turn into a nervous wreck. I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with things, but then again, it's only been 3 days. We have a long way to go. I hope I get it all together sooner than later.

Thanks again for the well wishes and prayers. We appreciate every single one of them. I have some pictures, but I would rather post the one(s) without her head wrapped to protect her eyes from the lamp on her, or without the tubes in her. When we get to that point, I promise to post pictures. Probably more than you will want to look at.

I'm glad to hear the scan is well. I'm guessing the lights they have her under are the photo lights for jaundice? My friend's son had those.

It's great to hear that she is taking a good amount of food and doing well. Keeping my fingers crossed still for you guys. Babies are amazing creatures.

Little side note: I was a super sick baby/toddler. To this day I still have one of the dolls that my dad bought me when I was in the hospital. And though I don't remember a lot of that, I know my parents and grandma were always there, and that means the world. Can't wait for you guys to get to bring her home. =) Just keep your mind on the small hurdles she steps over. =)

I know I speak for everyone when I say we'd absolutely love to see your daughter right now if you'd let us. Whatever you're comfortable with though, we're all just glad everything is getting better. /hug

Lolanae, yeah the lights are for Jaundice. They are going to check her tomorrow and if she is good, and if so, take her off of the light. Hopefully that happens, right now (as you will see in one pic) her eyes are covered because of the light. She is happiest when she is sleeping on her tummy.....Here are 2 for you guys.

Wow a tummy sleeper! Catherine hated tummy time lol. She's so tiny, Don! Very beautiful =D Just wait till she gets all plump and rolly polly hehe. /hug Both Mike and I send our love =)

She's so beautiful. The one thing I know is that babies are alot stronger and have more fight in them than anyone can imagine. I know she will come through this and you guys will forget all about these scary times. Hoping the best for your family.

Ohhh, sweet baby!! You need to have someone (you or your lady) have their hand in there with her and have a picture taken, so you can show her when she's a big girl "see, this is how tiny you were at first!"
