Dragon Age: Origins

Anyone play this yet? (is it even out) and if its not out, anyone gonna play it?

Looks pretty awesome.

DA is single player. Krassus had asked what WoW server we were on. I'm just horrible at letting people know what part I'm responding to :D

Send your healer down to the town hall campfire. Pause and heal the townspeople. Expect Lloyd to die no matter what.

If you were successful in recruiting all of the town's helpers, you shouldn't need but one or two of your own people up top with the knights (town entrance.)

AE like Sleep or whatever the ae stun is that Morrigan has are great. Just be careful with AEs like Cone of Cold as they will very likely one-shot the townspeople.

Turn down the difficulty ;)

I had a rough time with the zombies in Redcliffe on my first playthrough, too. One tip I read was to train the zombies back up the hill where the other npcs were and let them help you beat them down. It will feel like it goes on forever, but it does end at some point. If it doesn't and you're not seeing any zombies, explore the area for one lone straggler, which will finally end the event for you.

I ended up running them up the hill, yeah. Finally I switched out the big burly guy for the rogue and that helped. I have no healer though =x So going through the castle back door hasn't been fruitful =x Fucking zombies. AND I keep running out of healing potions. Switching from character to character is annoying too =/

When you level up, see if you can put a point or two into healing spells for Morrigan. She isn't built to be a healer unless you go that route with her, but her having a healing spell will help cut down on potion costs. If you really want a healer NPC in your group, then I can tell you where to go next to unlock that person instead of suffering through whatever dungeon you're in. On my subsequent playthroughs, I started to go to a specific place first to get the healer asap and things would be downhill from there. You don't NEEEEEED the healer, but it cuts down on the frustrations. =p Morrigan should be a nice bandaid once you put a point in healing from her spells. It's more fun if you just play the game without knowing what to expect though!

WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING OMG? Elf, human, sexy dwarf? Rogue, warrior, mage? Details omg! OMG.

This game sounds like too much fun. I'm buying it right now.

EDIT: Okay, I bought it. If it's not as good as I expect, I'm holding Roz responsible.

Mass Effect 2 comes out at the end of January -- same company that made Dragon Age -- and it works very similar to DA:O in terms of getting your teammates to respect you and even romances. Oooh, alien sex!! I fully intend to be obnoxious about this so get your Dragon Age playtime in while you can! I'm not real big on sci-fi stuff, but I really enjoyed the original Mass Effect and the first person shooter feel. I made my character in honor of Duke Nukem, the original FPS that I played back in the day! (Quake doesn't count because I said so.) I may actually join some sci-fi art exchanges in the future because I finally have a character I can visualize as a representative of me instead of a D&D dwarf!

We just had a sci fi art event!!! ><

I know, I told you I couldn't join it back then for RL reasons! /bonk

DAO is both console and PC. I prefer PC, I never really get immersed in console games outside of Fable or CoD.

I am a total DAO fangirl.... and Bioware fangirl as well. I am sooo glad they're going back to their awesomg RPG roots with all their latest games - DAO, ME2, SWTOR... all look to be FABULOUS!!! I want DAO2 to come out already, I don't want to wait 2 years!!!

On a completely unrelated note, I also don't want to wait for the Steampunk TAC event!!! I'm signing up and doing that thing even if my hands don't heal up and I have to use my toes!!! TAC FTW!!! :ghug:

My god it is hard to get freaky with the guy in your tent. I got stuck with the virgin ex-templar, grey warden bastard heir to the throne... OF COURSE. What's a wood elf gotta do to f9ck a guy?!?!
ShutUpSara 16 years ago
Do the sexy spanish elf... or the sexy french bard :P Alistair is really cute and charming in an awkward way tho.

Also, there is a place to *ahem* buy some love in Denerim - You get some veeeerrry funny responses in there, and the opportunity for a 3 or 4 some
