Combined Threads - Formerly Officially A BOY!! + Water Broke!

I'm sure Mike's going to realllly appreciate this. So he and I are officially trying for our kiddo #2. We had unprotected sex last night, which marks the only other time we've EVER had unprotected sex. We grew up freaking out about unplanned pregnancies so we feel good about being able to plan our two. Don't get me wrong, surprises are good too - but I kinda don't like being surprised hehe. Especially since I'm diabetic so I have to come off a lot of medication. So I'm checking my blood pressure everyday and sugar. Anyway - if it's anything like Catherine, I'll be pregnant by next week O_o

Cross your fingers!

So I'm 4 months pregnant now and I've lost 2lbs and depending on what I'm wearing, not really showing at all. I can't complain actually lol. With Catherine I was showing at 5 months but had gained like 15lbs my first trimester.

I'm so tired. =(

lol -- of course you're thin...look at that skinny little babe! j/k

I didn't show till I was nearly 5 months either. I just started wearing maternity clothes at 4 months because I wanted everyone to know I was pregnant

I remember being tired too, but not so much in the beginning...more around the eighth month. Then I remember getting off work, going home, and just floating around on a raft in the pool! :P

Gratz on the weight issue!

Our being tired while pregnant is just proof positive that kids suck their energy right out of their mother.

when I was pregnant with my first I was in high school, alot of people didnt know until my final trimester.. though I had never kept it a secret. I think I gained about 20 pounds through the whole thing though.

I gained 55lbs with Catherine and with this bebe they threatened me with only 15. I hope I can do it, I'm so out of breath now - I can't even imagine having Mike roll me around the house at 8 months =( I am EXTREMELY horny though, which is weird because with Catherine I didn't want to have sex at all. Mike had to push me away this morning and come on now, after 16 years together, that never happens lol.

I was just like that with my second baby too Roz, incredibly tired and horny all the time. I'm thinking it's a second baby thing.

Last night Mike specifically told me not to wake him up early this morning. /snort

Finally I have my blood sugars under control. I've been waking up with 200+ fasting but good blood sugars throughout the day. Women's Health threw up their hands on Tuesday and said, 'Go back to Internal Medicine, we don't know what to do with you.'

'Uh...ok.'

So I talk to my old primary care provider about getting on the insulin pump. (shudder). Women's Health is INSISTING I do it.

'What? Why? No! Putting you on the pump would make things worse.'

I am perplexed, I've been perplexed a lot this week.

'Listen - putting you on the pump with these blood sugars isn't going to help. Do this instead.'

So he changed my insulin medicine back to what I was taking, minus my exhubera penis pump inhaler thing. My morning fasting is now 120. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. Women's Health had me on these 2 insulins that were 'tried and true'. It was the same stuff I took with Catherine but with greater success - but that was 8 years ago. Anyway, I'm way better now and completely relieved.

Woot grats Roz! I know you are happy to have it down and not have to worry about getting anything else. I bet you could really hug your old provider now.

I could, he's cute.

Glad to hear you have one less thing to worry about

Glad you have it under control, Roz. I take the Gestational Diabetes test tomorrow. I hope I pass it. It's really the only thing they are worried about due to my huge family history of diabetes.

I had my 20 week ultrasound today (even though I'm 19weeks, hehe) and after an hour and a half (imagine Catherine half asleep in her chair) we got a good look at the baby and everything is going ok. Oh and he's DEFINITELY A BOY! I got some beautiful pictures of his profile and of course his peepee, which doesn't look like anything to me but the tech swears she saw a penis, and I'll try and scan them at my parents house tomorrow.

I've been feeling good and the baby's kicking really strong but not strong enough for Mike to feel him from the outside. Catherine swears she's felt him though. I go in again at 24 weeks to have them look at the heart - nothing wrong there, just that his heart is still small at 19 weeks and they want to see it when it gets bigger.

Jello and I are gonna start planning my bebe shower now that we know for sure its a boy. I've been registering at amazon and target but I honestly don't know what to choose except for the big stuff that people never buy you lol. Anyway, we're happy, the baby looks healthy and we're excited. This is going by so much faster than Catherine, for sure. =)

woohoo congrats on the boy! =D

Awesome to hear everything is moving along well! *hugs*

Yay Roz! Glad it all went well. =) It's always so neat seeing the move and feeling it.

Nice now I can look forward to to having those long man to man talks with him about women. Things like the cruel joke god played on man by having him spend 9 months getting out of a woman and the rest of his life trying to get back in

What name are you registered under? And all I can remember needing tons of when my daughter was a baby were washcloths, receiving/light weight blankets, crib sheets, and those terry sleepers. Because I worked full time I didn't get a chance to do laundry more than once a week, so having lots of those kinds of things helped me there.

Of course the big things are nice too...and I had a couple friends go in together on my swing. My family bought me most of the other big things. I don't know if I could have survived without my shower though...what a godsend!
