Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

I thought Angelina Jolie did a heck of a job in The Changeling.

Yeah, she did get that nomination. I dont know, it's a personal preference, I guess. =x

Oh sure - I just felt she exhibited more range than I expected from her. She definitely brought the crazy in some scenes, though - Girl, Interrupted style :D.

Anyway, I can totally see not digging it - I just thought she showed some impressive craftsmanship.

I"m not a fan of AJs either, but I have to give her credit for that movie as well. That I don't care for her is one reason why I never was in a rush to see the movie, and didn't until it was on dvd.
Plus those kinds of movies always get me screaming, and people in the theaters tend to get pissed off at me when I do that :P

I love her, don't get me wrong, I just prefer to see her in action movies.

Catherine finished Twilight yesterday O_O. I honestly didn't think she'd do it, but she absolutely loved the book. She wants me to buy her New Moon asap. I read along with her, chunks of it here and there, and I sat down yesterday and read Midnight Sun (Edward's perspective) and totally enjoyed that more than Bella's point of view. I'm proud of Catherine though. I wasn't reading near as much when I was her age.

Did this get published, or are you reading online? I thought Meyer said she was never going to get it published, is why I'm asking...wondered if she changed her mind.

My daughter started reading at a very early age, and never stopped. I'm sure this is a huge reason why she did so well in school. :D Gratz to Catherine!

Stephanie Meyer has it on her website with a long explanation about why she was posting it and why she wanted the people who leaked it to die horribly O_o

tristans a big reader, I cant hand him books fast enough. He read the Host ( same author as Twilight only more teen/kid friendly) in three days and used it for his book report book, but he tests at college level and the crap they have on their book report lists are 4th -8th grade. (they got to choose their own book this week, he was thrilled)

Id prolly not let him read the twilight series if I had read them first. The first couple are ok but the fourth one is terribly graphic and alot more sexy than the others, Bella being an adult and the whole sex thing not being dodged quite like it is in the other books. Hes 13 and all but Im nt in a hurry for him to go there.. I was only 4 years older than him when i got pregnant with him.

And besides, the whole birthing thing made me physically ill.. both times I read it. *shudder*

Good books but I think dawson can be 16 or so when he reads them.

Yeah I'm aware that some parents don't think it's for the younger tween crowd, but I like to think I'm a decent enough parent to actually talk with her about the books she reads (if not read them with her). It took her almost 3 months to read Twilight, so by the time she gets to the 4th (if she ever does) she'll be a little older. Really, what's the difference between Twilight (book 1) and Harry Potter? I read the first book (well half of it) to her at 7, but there were plenty of parents out there letting their 7 year olds read those books.

Personally, I'm proud Catherine was mature enough to even finish a 400 page book. She likes to read and I like to talk with her about what she reads. Kind of sucks that I feel like have to justify it, not that I'm saying you are Lessa, I know you wouldn't imply that I would. =)

We have a gate in front of our christmas tree to keep david from assaulting it. He's figured out how to climb up on the couch and slide over onto the end table, but he keeps running passed the tree to the hallway closet so I thought - maybe he can be trusted now. I took the gate down.

He literally lasted 10 seconds.

/puts gate back up
