No way.

Dragon Age is a single player game anyhow (or can be) without playing it online!

How much of a single player game? Commercial looks good but I don't want another MMO
Kelefane 15 years ago
Ive heard that this game is like...the best thing since slice bread as far as single player RPG games go.

Its one of those "hardcore single player RPGs"

Its really vast and the world is huge etc

Its getting some awesome reviews.

my brother loves this game....had to poke him bunches to come back and play wow with me some days at least! tho i read PC is better then the ps3 one.

Well then - since I've heard the new Call of Duty sucks I might go with this when I get some money. I'm currently playing fallout3 and have mass effect and GTA4 on the backburner - maybe it will come down in price by the time I get there.

From what im reading, it'll keep you busy.

One review claims that it'll take you 5-7 hour sessions per day for a solid month to beat it.

This game was under development for almost 5 years, they put a lot of love into it and made sure it was released bug free.

And BioWare generally puts out top notch games.

Dragon Age: Origins is my new obsession. I am completely in love with this game. It is completely single player and very story and character driven. My first play through's end time was 72 hours. All of the different origins (race/class stories) are completely different from each other and just overall excellent. I love how they continue to influence dialogue choices throughout the game.

I cannot recommend this game highly enough.

How simliar to Oblivion is it? I was never a fan - it was just too opened ended

Can't say I've played Oblivion, but if it was anything like Daggerfall, then I would have to say Dragon Age: Origins is not nearly that open ended.

It also isn't strictly linear either, but you definitely have a sense of direction and where you should be going. While you do have to go to certain areas of the game, you can choose which order you want to do them in. And it is non-linear in that sense.

If you've played Baldur's Gate, think that. Hopefully that helps answer your question!

I was interested in this until I saw it was a single player game lol. I am looking for an MMO that is fun like the original Everquest with the solo-ability of WoW! Is there such an animal?

From what I've heard Aion would be your animal.

As far as DA:O goes, it rocks, it's like a successor to Baldur's Gate...
There's six seperate and unique "origin" stories.
So a human noble warrior and elf commoner mage would have different starting points, see?
(race: human, elf, dwarf. class: mage, warrior, rogue. status: noble, commoner)
They all converge into the main story though...
I'm ~1/3 through and have over 30 hours invested.
You can learn additional classes called "specializations" during the game.
The voice acting is superb (CLaudia Black, Kate Mulgrew, Tim Curry), the FMV is beautiful.
You can also add mods/etc on the PC version.
